Tony Eltora (guitar)
From Richmond, Virginia, Tony studied music at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has 20+ years experience playing and performing and has shared the stage with an impressive list of national acts. Tony has taught music for the past 12 years and is qualified to teach Rock, Jazz, Classical, Blues and Country. He also teaches music theory, scales and sight reading. His goal is to help students learn, have fun and to be a well-rounded musician.
Rob Walmsley (guitar)
Rob graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music, with a concentration in classical piano and jazz guitar, and has been teaching ever since. He has also played music actively in many local bands with style ranging form Jazz to Blues to Rock and continues to do so. Rob likes to teach the music the student listens to at home. He feels that by showing the student what they personally enjoy listening to he will keep their interest and practice level higher. Rob likes to keep things light and fun, so that he and the student both enjoy the lessons.
Alan Mearns (guitar)
Alan is a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, switched from the violin to the guitar at age ten, upon watching an older friend play "Johnny Be Good". He hasn't looked back since. Entering university with no formal training, he was the first guitarist to ever win the coveted Fletcher Scholarship, the only full-ride scholarship available at ASU School of Music. Under the tutelage of Dr Douglas James he went on to become a prize-winning classical guitarist, earning his Masters Degree in music performance with the world renowned virtuoso Dr Stanley Yates. Alan now balances his time between performing with his rock band Airspace, teaching and song-writing.
Colton Suttles (guitar / bass / banjo / mandolin)
Colton has been playing and performing for the past 14 years and studied under Will Ray and Jaret Carter. His preferred styles of music are Blues, Country, Gospel, Rock and Jazz. Colton also teaches music theory and ear training and has been an instructor for the past 5 years. His goal is to help students learn and have fun playing their instrument.
Jay Ambrose (bass)
Jay has 30 years of experience as a bass player both live and in the studio. He graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Music Theory. Jay has taught bass guitar in Hickory for 6 years and his preferred music styles are Rock, Blues, Country, R&B and Jazz. He also teaches music theory, scales and sight reading.
Luc Valcourt (drums)
Luc has over 20 years of experience performing, teaching and in the studio. In 2007 Luc attended The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences where he studied the methods of analog and digital recording. Luc is fluent in most styles of drumming and encourages his students to perform in public and play with other musicians. Luc has been playing in local and regional bands since the age of sixteen and you can see him most weekends around town performing with one of his projects.
Laura Diane Greene (piano / violin / voice / flute)
Laura has over 20 years of experience performing and teaching. She studied piano, flute, guitar, and percussion at Lenoir-Rhyne University and graduated with a degree in music in December of 2007. Laura is also a youth music director at her church and plays in several bands on a local and regional level
